Some Important Prepositions

Yesterday I also delivered a lecture on the use of some of the Prepositions after the same verb. For example  

1. Applied [to, for, against, with]

1. I applied ___ the principal ___ the post of lecturer ___ a written application.

I applied to the the principal for the post of lecturer with a written application.  

2. I complained ____ the judge ____ my neighbour ____ his misconduct.

 I complained to the judge against my neighbour for his misconduct.

2. Agree [to, on, with]

2. I was agreed ___ his suggestion.

4. I was agreed to my friend's suggestion.

5. I was agreed with my friend.

6. We were agreed on the agreement.

3. Marry [to, with]

7. Ali married ____ Alia. ( no preposition in active voice)

8. Alia was married ____ Ali. (passive voice)

9. Shamim Ahmad came to marry Mehrunnisa with pomp and show.
